The Rev. Richard David Say, son of Commander Richard Say, O.B.E., R.N.V.R., and Mrs Richard Say, of Pattison Road, Hampstead has become engaged to Miss Irene Frances Rayner, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs Seaburne Rayner of Exeter.
A year ago last April the News reported the escape of Commander Say’s daughter from an internment camp inn France.

On October 16, 1943, at St. Marin-in-the-Fields, by the Lord Bishop of Portsmouth, the Rev. Richard David Say, son of Commander Richard Say, O.B.E., R.N.V.R., and Mrs Richard Say, of Hampstead to Irene Frances Rayner, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs Seaburne Rayner of Exeter.

The marriage of the Rev. Richard David Say, who left Croydon in February after four years as curate at the Parish oChurch, took place at St Martin-in-the-Fields on Saturday.
His bride was Miss Irene Frances Rayner, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs Seaburne May, or Exeter. The bridegroom is the son of Richard Say, O.B.E. R.N.V.R., and Mrs Sat of Hampstead.
The service was conducted by the Bishop of Portsmouth (the Rt. Rev. W.L. Anderson), who was the Bishop of Croydon during Mr Say’s curacy.
Youth Worker
Mr Say, who is attached to the Church of St martin-in-the-Fields as assistant secretary to the Central Youth Council of the Church England, was responsible for the organization of many youth activities at the Parish Church, and did a great deal to popularize the children’s services.
He was represented with a cheque from between 150 and 170 subscribers in addition to other gifts from members of the Church organizations, when he led tCroydon to take up his new work.
