The Hon. Edward Charles Crofton , the elder son and heir of Lord Crofton, of Mote Park, Roscommon, was found dead yesterday morning in the garage of his residence, Ladywell House, Glasson, near Athlone. He was seated in his car, the engine of which was running, and he is thought to have died from the effects of the exhaust fumes. Mr Crofton , who was 40 last January, was formerly a lieutenant in the Northumberland Fusilers. He married in 1925 Cecilia Mabel, daughter of the late Mr John T Day, of Hayswood, Streatham Park S.W. and widow of Mr A.F. MacDonald. He leaves a son and a daughter. His wife was in Dublin when the discovery was made. Lord Crofton is at present, in Scotland, accompanied by his daughter.
