Lincs. Airman And Doctor Are Fined
A twenty two years old airman, Sgt. Peter Leitch stationed at R.A.F. Hemswell was fined £2 at Gainsborough Magistrates Court today in charges of driving a car without a driving license.
Charged with aiding and abetting Leitch, Dr. Maurice Seaburne May Rayner of Bracebridge Health Hospital, near Lincoln, was fined 10s.
P.C. Wood told the court he stopped Leitch, who was driving towards the village of Willoughton and found he had no licence or insurance.
Laer he interviewed Dr.. Rayner who said he had loaned his car, but was under the impression that Leitch was fully covered and that “everything was all right”.
Leitch said he was asked to take home in Dr. Rayner’s car and when asked of he could drive replied that he could do so.
