ROSCOMMON UNION – Wednesday
The Guardians of this Union met with the Right Hon. Lord Crofton took the chair……
Lord Crofton proposed that in order to check the awful depravity which existed, and which daily presented itself by Prostitutes entering the house and quitting it when they were well, and to distinguish them, their hair would be cut short. ” This resolution passed with but one dissentient; and the result is that upwards of twenty of this unfortunate class quit the house the next day, probably to change their mode of livelihood.
The board adjourned at four o’clock.
