Mrs. Bourne-May’s Jewellery Stolen

A daring robbery, which was carried out, last Saturday, at. Shrubs Hill House. Sunningdale,. Berkshire, the residence of Mr. and Mrs. J. Bourne. May, has a particular interest for Fleetwood and the Over- Wyre District. Mrs. Bourne May, whose jewellery was stolen to the  value of about £300 is the only daughter of the late James Bourne-M.P. of Hackinshall Hall, Preesall, and name Bourne is, of course. a household word in the Knott End district, of which Sir James Bourne was a pioneer in the important development schemes which have been in progress for some time. At the time Miss Bourne was married, her husband’s name was J. W. Seaburne May, and he assumed the name Bourne-May in 1897.

An entry to Shrubs Hill House was effected while the family were having tea on the lawn. the thieves passing through a conservatory to the house. A jewel case with all its contents was taken from an upstairs room, the loss altogether amounting to about £300. The  empty jewel case was found on Sunday in  a ditch. The house stands in the main London road, where several robberies have recently occurred.
