IRISH BARON’S WILL. The late Baron Crofton, Mote Park, Co. Roscommon, left personal estate in the United Kingdom of the gross value of £756, as estimated for the purpose of estate duty. But his will of January 27, 1873, probate of which has been granted to his nephew, Arthur E. Lowther, Lord Baron Crofton, his sole executor, he bequeathed £2OO each to his nieces, Mabel, Theresa, and Gertrude Crofton. He bequeathed to his niece, Gertrude, 7 shares in the Palialah and Subathu Mining Co., together with all dividends and interest accrued or to accrue thereon. : To his brothers, the Hon. Alfred Crofton and the Hon. Francis G. Crofton, he gave £5OO each. All the residue of his proper real and personal, he bequeathed to his brother, the Hon, Charles G Crofton, whom he appointed his sole executor and trustee. He directed that all his plate should be retained as heirlooms in the family.
By a codicil dated 28th Feh., 1896, his brother, the Hon. Chas. G. Crofton, having died since the date of his will, the testator left the residue of property, real and personal, to his nephew, Arthur E. Lowther (Lord 4th Baron Crofton (Midge)), whom he appointed his sole executor and trustee.
