Utica N.Y. – A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. tomorrow in the Church of St John the Evangelist, Hingham, Mass., for Peter C. Clute, formerly of Hingham.  He was the assistant principal of the Whitesboro Central School, Whitesboro, and on July 1 would have started work as principal of Schalmont Middle School in Rotterdam N.Y.  He died unexpectedly Friday in his Utica home.  He was 31.

He founded the “School of the Month Hall of Fame” conducted many workshops and was assistant lacrosse coach during his two years at Whitesboro.

Earlier he taught for three years at the Deerfield School, Cohasset Mass., and coached wrestling at Norwell High School, Norwich Mass.

He was born in Hyannis Mass., in 1950, attended Derby Academy in Hingham and was graduated from Gov. Dummer Academy, Byfield Mass., and Lake Forest College, Lake Forest.Ill.

He received his master’s degree from Columbia University Teacher’s College, New York City and was PhD candidate and research assistant at the Horace Mann-Lincoln Institute of Columbia University.

He leaves his parents, Charle and Monique (Aeschmann) Clute of Hingham, and a brother H Merrill Clute of Bradford, Conn.

An additional memorial service will be held at 2:30 Friday in St John;s Episcopal Church i n Whitesboro.
