Thomas McGouran
Thomas Bernard McGouran passed away suddenly in his home on April 19. He left the world just days before his 51st birthday on April 23.
Tom was predeceased by his grandparents, John and Olive Lanzarotta and Bernard and Johanna McGouran. He is survived by parents Bernard and Nancy McGouran. Tom was an older brother to Elizabeth and Kathleen McGouran and uncle to Elizabeth’s three sons, Callaghan, Cavan and Byrne Ladines. He leaves behind large, loving extended families on both sides.
Tom was a dedicated employee of Dortec Industries, division of Magna, where he worked for almost three decades and was honoured with service awards for his hard work and loyalty to the organization.
An adept pool player, Tom was a well-loved member of the Newmarket billiards community where he regularly played and competed in local tournaments. Friends, fellow players and former competitors remember him as a great sport on and off the tables.
Tom knew his way around a motorboat; from a young age, he loved to fish and treasured spending time out on Six Mile Lake at the Lanzarotta family cottage. He was an avid console and PC gamer, enjoying the activity throughout his life and introducing family and friends to new games and technology.
Tom will be celebrated in a private service for immediate family at Marshall Funeral Home in Richmond Hill. Details of a public entombment to follow
