Death of Naval Captain
The death took place last week in Edinburgh Nursing Home of Captain Archibald Seaburne May, O.B.E., M.V.O., R.N., of Chatto, Morebattle, following an operation. Younger son of the late Admiral of the Fleet Sir William May, G.C.B., G.C.V.O., of Bughtrigg, Coldstream. Captain May first entered the Royal Navy at the age of 15 and at the age of 20 was commissioned a Lieutenant. In 1917 he was promoted to Commander and retired several years ago. During the first World War, Captain May saw considerable service and received the Russian Order of St. Anne. He was created M.V.O. (4th Class) in 1910 and was awarded the O.B.E. in 1919. He married Miss Mary Emma Price, daughter of Commander Edward Noble Price, R.N., of Villa Frere Malta. The funeral took place to Hounam Churchyard (Chatto)on Monday last.
